On Friday, April 17th, in the afternoon, there is a 75-minute presentation on the intersection of dance and Parkinson’s Disease.  David Leventhal, celebrated dancer and program director of Dance for PD®, and Dave Iverson, independent filmmaker who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2004, discuss the unique collaboration between a world-renowned dance company and people with Parkinson’s.  This event will feature clips from the film.  Details are:

Friday, April 17 | 1:00 – 2:15 pm
Pigott Theater in Memorial Auditorium, Stanford University
Free and Open to the Public – no reservations required

On Saturday, April 18th, those with PD – no matter how advanced – are invited to join a free 90-minute Dance for PD® class starting at 10am.  Pre-registration is required as there are only 50 spots available.  All 50 spots have been taken but you may still sign up for the waitlist.  A certain number of waitlist participants will likely be able to attend. Participants will explore engaging movement and inspiring music in ways that are enjoyable and creative.  No dance experience is required. In chairs, at a barre or moving across the floor, attendees will explore elements of modern dance, ballet, tap, folk and social dancing, and Mark Morris company repertory in a non-pressured, social environment in which live music energizes, enriches and empowers.  Details are:
