Stanford Movement Disorder Specialist to talk about Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) in Palo Alto, October 14

Melanie Lising, MD, a movement disorder specialist at Stanford, will be talking about “Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) — Everything you always wanted to know” at the Palo Alto Parkinson’s Support Group meeting on Wednesday, October 14th, 2-3:30pm, at Avenidas.  This event is free and open to the public.  No need to RSVP.

text_image_10.img.full.highDr. Lising, a neurologist, joined Stanford several months ago.  She specializes in the treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia using deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin therapy.

While her talk will focus on the past, present, and future of DBS as a treatment for Parkinson’s, she will answer audience questions on other PD-related topics.
