The Palo Alto-Menlo Park Support Group has moved! Our meeting time has changed! Come join us at Avenidas from 2:30-4:00 on the Second Wednesday of each month

March 18, 2019 By Parkinson's Community Help

The Palo Alto-Menlo Park Support Group has made the move to Avenidas Senior Center effective, Wednesday, March 13th. After 18 months at Little House Activity Center in Menlo Park, Avenidas has completed an interior makeover and our support group has returned to Avenidas, in a different location, and at slightly different times. Read on below to find out details and join our email reminder list if you have not done so already. Please join us at a future meeting!

What:
The Palo Alto-Menlo Park Support Group, providing educational speakers for anyone wanting to learn more about Parkinson’s.

Free, and open to the public. No RSVP required

When:
The second Wednesday of each month. The meetings begin at 2:30pm and conclude at 4:00pm.

Where:
Avenidas, 450 Bryant Street, Palo Alto 94301 (Map).  The group will meet in the Art Room. As you enter the front doors, if you are able to use the stairs, make a quick turn to the left, proceed in front of the check in desk and continue upstairs to the second floor. At the landing make a left turn. The Art Room is directly ahead.

If you want to use the elevator proceed straight ahead to the elevator lobby and take the elevator to the second floor. Make a right turn out of the elevator and a right turn down the corridor (past restrooms) and a left turn (past more restrooms) to arrive at the Art Room.

We will have a check in table and materials as you enter the room. The building is accessible on all levels to anyone with disabilities. Restrooms are just outside the entrance of the Art Room.

Parking:
For Avenidas members only, free parking is available behind the main building. For all others there is a large parking structure directly across Bryant Street from the front entrance. Parking is free in this garage. Look for a 3-hour parking space if one is available.

About the group:
The Palo Alto-Menlo Park Support Group has been meeting for many years and provides educational materials and speakers to anyone interested in learning more about Parkinson’s. The meetings are free and open to the public. No RSVP is required to attend.

Want to learn more? Please reach out to the support group leader, Robin Riddle, at rriddle@stanford.edu, or call 650.724.6090.

The group maintains an email reminder list. If you are receiving this email, you are already on the reminder list. If someone forwarded this information to you, know that you can join the list at any meeting or sign up online. About a week before each meeting those on the list receive a reminder about the upcoming meeting and the speaker and topic for that month’s presentation. You can sign up online for any of our mailing lists, including one for those wanting to learn more about Parkinson’s, and another for those seeking information about caring for someone with PD. We also have sign-up sheets for all of our lists at each meeting.
