Sing Loud for PD. A weekly singing program throughout the month of May

May 7, 2020 By Parkinson's Community Help

Offered in collaboration with the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA), Guild Hall, and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Center for Parkinson’s disease, Sing Loud for PD is a chorus for people living with PD and their care partners. This fun, virtual program will unite us in song and music. No previous musical experience is required and all lyrics will be provided. The program is free, but registration is limited, and required.

Here are the program details. Sign up for one or all of the programs.

Wednesdays, 12:30-1:30pm

Session 1, May 6 – Musical Potpourri-a little bit of pop, standards and Broadway

Session 2, May 13 – The Hollywood Edition

Session 3, May 20 – Easy Listening-pop, soft rock,vocals

Session 4, May 27 – Broadway Spectacular

Led by Valerie diLorenzo, award-winning vocalist and teaching artist.

Pre-registration required. Space is limited.

Singing is a wonderful exercise to help participants speak loudly, manage breath control, and practice clear enunciation.  As a reminder, we have information on our webpage related to speech and swallowing issues.
