Stanford Movement disorder specialist and palliative care physician Jocelyn Jiao, MD, will speak to the Willow Glen Parkinson’s Support Group on Friday, March 7, at 10am. Dr. Jiao will provide an overview of palliative care and how it can help with Parkinson’s symptom management.

Dr Jiao will share her work in palliative care for people with Parkinson’s. She will explain what palliative care is, how palliative care is different from hospice, how palliative care can benefit people with PD, and when someone with PD should enroll in palliative care.

The Willow Glen Parkinson’s Support Group meets on the first Friday monthly from 10-11:30am in the community center of St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Street, San Jose. Group co-leaders Dave Lambert and Pat Flanigan arrange for speakers at most meetings.

To join the Willow Glen Parkinson’s Support group, or find just the right Parkinson’s or PD caregiver support group for you, the Stanford Parkinson’s website lists support groups in Northern California.
