The Stanford Medicine Poston Research Laboratory is co-hosting a seminar for Individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and anyone else interested in exploring the gut-brain relationship in this disease. This hybrid seminar – virtual and in-person on Stanford campus – runs from 3-5:30pm PT on Saturday, January 10, 2026, and includes free parking, food, and drinks for in-person attendees.
Experts will discuss what the gut microbiome is and why it matters in Parkinson’s disease, how gut health may play a role in early detection of neurodegenerative symptoms, and current research on simultaneous noninvasive monitoring of the gut and brain.
Speakers hope attendees will volunteer to participate in Stanford gut-brain research and help spread the word that Stanford is looking for study participants. Study participation would require at least one visit to Stanford, or perhaps more, depending on the study.
Attend virtually or in-person at the Center for Academic Medicine, Grand Rounds Room, 453 Quarry Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Find the Grand Rounds Room on the ground level inside the courtyard that opens onto Quarry Road.
Parking is free and open to anyone on Saturdays at either end of the building or in the parking garage under the building. Entrance to the parking garage is at the Vineyard Lane traffic signal.
Complementary refreshments will be provided.
