Dr. Ray Dorsey Addressing PD Prevention and PD Treatment at Two Local Venues, January 28, 2026 – Join us!

January 15, 2026 By Parkinson's Community Help

Dr. Ray Dorsey

World-renowned Parkinson’s disease expert Dr. Ray Dorsey is on a national book tour, sharing the science, stories, and urgency behind “The Parkinson’s Plan,” his new bestseller.  Luckily, we have lined him up for two events on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in our local area — Belmont Library (10:10am) and Little House in Menlo Park (2:30pm).  Dr. Dorsey will detail some of the 25 steps necessary to lower your risk of developing Parkinson’s and, if you have PD, slowing decline.  He will be in conversation with Stanford’s APDA Information & Referral Center Coordinator Robin Riddle.  Read more about Dr. Dorsey’s talk and join us!

Two Local Venues

Dr. Ray Dorsey, in conversation with Stanford’s Robin Riddle, will be appearing at two local venues:

Wednesday, January 28, 10:10-11:40am
Belmont Library, 1110 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont
Doors open at 10am, so don’t arrive very early unless you want close parking.

Wednesday, January 28, 2:30-4pm
Little House, 800 Middle Ave., Menlo Park

Audience questions welcome.  There is no virtual option, and these conversations will not be recorded.

Even if you heard his co-author Dr. Michael Okun when we hosted him in September 2025, join us to hear Dr. Dorsey as the conversation will be different.

Share the flyer

RSVPs preferred, but just show up!!!

Please RSVP to Denise Dagan, Stanford APDA, ddagan@stanford.edu, cell 650-867-7419 (texts accepted).  Please share your name, how many are in your party, and preferred location (Belmont or Menlo Park).  If you leave voicemail, please share your phone number if we have questions.

Note:  If you are a member at Little House, you may also register with Little House.  (No need to register with Stanford and Little House.)

About the Book

The Parkinson's Plan Book Cover

We will try to purchase some books from the publisher in advance for Dr. Dorsey to autograph.

On “The Parkinson’s Plan” website, the book tour is described as a “movement”.

In The Parkinson’s Plan, Dr. Ray Dorsey and Dr. Michael Okun expose the hidden environmental triggers fueling the rise of Parkinson’s, and offer a groundbreaking PLAN for prevention and treatment— starting now.”

Just published, the book is already on The New York Times bestseller list.

If you would like to purchase a book in advance, please bring it with you for Dr. Dorsey to sign in the short time available after each event.

About Dr. Ray Dorsey

Dr. Ray Dorsey is the director of the Center for the Brain & the Environment at the Atria Health and Research Institute.  The center’s mission is to identify the root causes of brain diseases from autism to Alzheimer’s so that we can prevent them.  With his colleagues, he wrote “Ending Parkinson’s Disease” and the New York Times bestseller, “The Parkinson’s Plan.”   Dr. Dorsey previously directed the Center for Health + Technology at the University of Rochester, chaired the Huntington Study Group, and led the movement disorders division at Johns Hopkins.  In 2015, the White House recognized him as a “Champion for Change” for Parkinson’s disease.

About the Stanford Host Organization

Stanford’s APDA (American Parkinson Disease Association) Information and Referral Center is proud to host Dr. Dorsey for two local events in the Stanford area in January 2026.  We previously hosted his co-author Dr. Michael Okun in September 2025.

About Belmont Library

Overlooking Belameda Park, the Belmont Library offers free services like daily story times, workshops, and a new Makerspace with innovative technologies like 3D printers and digital art.

Day/Time:  Wednesday, January 28, 10:10-11:40am
Address:  Belmont Library, 1110 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont
Room:  Taube Room

As the library’s doors open at 10am, the program will begin at 10:10am.  Given the small lot at the library, we suggest you arrive about 9:50am and relax a bit!  We must vacate the Taube Room by noon.
Parking
:  There is a small lot (including accessible spots) at the library, with a drop-off area.  Children’s “story time” begins at 10:30am and is always well-attended.  Parking offsite may be required so plan accordingly.   There’s some parking on nearby streets.  The Barrett Community Center (1835 Belburn Dr., Belmont), with ample parking, is a ten-minute walk from the library.

The Taube Room seats about 50 people comfortably.  Many of the chairs are on wheels, so please exercise caution.

About Little House

Day/Time:  Wednesday, January 28, 2:30-4pm
Address:  Little House, 800 Middle Ave., Menlo Park
Room: Auditorium

Little House is an activity center for seniors in a residential neighborhood in Menlo Park. They are accommodating us in their auditorium.  Non-members need to check in at the front desk.  The front desk will have the list of all those who have RSVP’d.

Parking:  There is a drop-off area at the front door.  Parking is plentiful.

If this is your first time visiting Little House, we have some suggestions!  Little House is set back quite a way from Middle Ave.  If you are coming from El Camino Real and turn on to Middle (where there’s a giant Safeway), you’ll pass Nealon Park on the right.  Beyond Nealon Park is a small green/white sign that says “Little House” and “Meals on Wheels.”  Turn right there.  (If you get to University Dr., you’ve gone too far.)  Go to the end of that driveway, beyond tennis courts and a ballfield. Turn right again and you’ll see Little House at the end of the driveway.

If you need the exercise, park on Middle Ave., perhaps in front of Nealon Park and cut through the lawn (or find the path).  Or park by the tennis courts and you’ll still get a bit of a walk.
