From May 4 through May 6, the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is hosting a three-day Ask the Expert session on Smart Patients, its online Parkinson’s disease (PD) community. Dr. Rebecca Gilbert, APDA’s Chief Mission Officer, will answer questions from community members about all aspects of PD, including testing, diagnosis, symptom management, surgical treatments, and working with your healthcare team.
The event follows the April 29 episode of “Dr. Gilbert Hosts: Ask the Doctor Anything” and gives the PD community a chance to keep the conversation going in a flexible, asynchronous format. Questions can be posted anytime during the three-day window, and Dr. Gilbert will respond throughout.
Smart Patients is a free online forum for people with PD and their care partners. APDA has partnered with Smart Patients since 2017 to extend its reach to people who may not have access to in-person support groups or APDA programs in their area. The forum runs year-round as a place to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others living with PD across the country.
