From May 4 through May 6, the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is hosting a three-day Ask the Expert session on Smart Patients, its online Parkinson’s disease (PD) community. Dr. Rebecca Gilbert, APDA’s Chief Mission Officer, will answer questions from community members about all aspects of PD, including testing, diagnosis, symptom management, surgical treatments, and working with your healthcare team.
Prior to this May 4-6 event, the APDA will host an episode of “Dr. Gilbert Hosts: Ask the Doctor Anything” on Wednesday, April 29. The event on Smart Patients in May gives the PD community a chance to keep the conversation going with Dr. Gilbert in a flexible, asynchronous format.
Smart Patients is a free online forum for people with PD and their care partners. APDA has partnered with Smart Patients since 2017 to extend its reach to people who may not have access to in-person support groups or APDA programs in their area. The forum runs year-round as a place to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others living with PD across the country.
