Stanford Movement Disorder Specialist to discuss deep brain stimulation (DBS) in Palo Alto, September 12

Melanie Lising, a movement disorder specialist at Stanford, will be discussing deep brain stimulation surgery (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease at the Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) Support Group on Tuesday, September 12th from 6:30-8:00PM. Driving Rehabilitation program scheduled on Tuesday, September 12, 10:30-11:30 am, Stanford

This driving rehabilitation session will discuss the topics of the aging driver and requirements by the California DMV if a driver has had a change in medical status (such as being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease), suspended license or let his or her license expire  The session will be held at the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center.  The program is free but advance registration is required…. Full Story>

Qi Gong and Parkinson’s Exercise Classes begin August 2nd, 3rd at Stanford’s Neuroscience Health Center

Two new classes will be offered beginning in early August in the Wellness Room 1511, Stanford Neuroscience Health Center. Qi Gong for Vitality, offered every Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM, begins on August 2nd and welcomes walk ins. Parkinson’s Exercise Class, offered every Thursday from 2:00-3:00 PM, and again from 3:00-4:00PM begins on August 3rd and requires pre-registration. All classes are free.
