“Practical Strategies for Care in LBD and FTD” – Webinar notes

In a webinar hosted last month by the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA), three experts gathered to discuss various aspects of Lewy body dementia (LBD) and frontotemporal degeneration (FTD).  LBD is also called Parkinson’s disease dementia.  And frontotemporal degeneration includes two atypical parkinsonism disorders — progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal degeneration.

Every month, Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach produces a list of Parkinson’s-related webinars and virtual events (conferences and symposia). Here’s our November 2020 list of PD webinars and virtual events. There seems to be no slow-down in the pandemic-time webinar parade, despite the fact that the holidays are approaching.  Since November is National Caregivers Month, there are several virtual events for PD caregivers. Most of the webinars listed are for a general audience and most are free. Be sure to register in advance!

“Cognition and Mood, and How to Manage Them” – Webinar Notes

In early October, the Davis Phinney Foundation hosted a virtual conference.  Greg Pontone, MD, MHS, with Johns Hopkins Parkinson’s Disease Neuropsychiatry Clinic, spoke about cognition, mood, and the management of cognitive and mood changes in PD.  We at Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach listened to the talk, and are sharing our notes.
