This month the Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach Program hosted a lunch for former PD caregivers who attended our support groups. Those in attendance had lost their loved one from one week to four years ago.
We asked them to share their thoughts on a few questions to benefit current PD caregivers. Here are the questions we asked our lunch attendees and their wise advice:

On Friday, July 19, at 10am Stanford Medicine and Brain Support Network will host neurologist Adam Boxer, MD, PhD, with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center for a webinar on the latest research into progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and corticobasal syndrome (CBS).

Stanford’s Movement Disorders Center and Brain Support Network are co-hosting this Progressive Supranuclear Palsy/Corticobasal Degeneration Symposium. This is a hybrid event — some attending in-person on Stanford’s campus and many attending virtually.
Who should attend? Everyone is welcome — those with PSP/CBD, caregivers, family members, friends, home care aides, healthcare professionals, and anyone in the community interested in learning more about PSP and CBD. (We use the acronym “CBD” to include corticobasal syndrome, or CBS.)

The American Parkinson Disease Association’s “Connecting Through Art” classes will be held on June 14, July 12, and August 9 from 11am-12:30pm at The Forum at San Antonio (23500 Cristo Rey Dr, Cupertino, CA). There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
