
Stepping On is an evidence-based program for older adults who have fallen or are at risk of falling. The program looks at falls and fall risks, safe footwear, vision, home and community safety, medication management and bone health. Exercises are introduced in class by a physical therapist and focus on strength and balance. Stepping On meets for 7 sessions for 2-hours each, and starts on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Read more..

The Victory Summit – Reno. A free educational event where you will learn from national and regional movement disorder specialists, clinicians, and therapists to help you on your path to living well with Parkinson’s. The event is free, but pre-registration is required. A light lunch will be provided.
Helen Bronte-Stewart, MD, MSE, Director, Stanford Movement Disorders Center, will discuss the latest in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s Disease at the Tuesday, February 12, YOPD support group meeting at the Board Room, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Stanford. Her talk is titled “Sensing Brain Rhythms Enable Personalized Closed-Loop Deep Brain Stimulation.” The meeting starts at 6:30pm.
