Elena Call, MD, a movement disorder fellow at Stanford, will be talking about currently available Parkinson’s medications and what’s in the pipeline at the Palo Alto Young Onset Parkinson’s Support Group meeting on Tuesday, March 14th, 6:30-8pm. The meeting is held in the Boardroom at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. This event is free and open to those diagnosed with PD by age 50 or younger, and their family members. An RSVP 24 hours in advance is required to the group leader, Martha Gardner.

Kavita Ramachandran, MD, oncologist and Medical Director of Palliative Medicine at the Stanford Cancer Institute, understands that questions about the end of life and its care issues are difficult to ask and yet they are cause for great worry by many patients and their families. In this talk, Dr. Ramchandran will address this subject from the perspective of her role as a medical oncologist, and Medical Director of Palliative Medicine at the Stanford Cancer Institute.
Bryant Lin, MD, Internal Medicine, Medical Director, Consultative Medical Clinic, will discuss best practices and new technology to assist aging at home for patients and their caregivers focusing on challenges with mobility, memory loss, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. He will draw from the medical literature and his own experiences at Stanford leading a team of medical students and residents who visit patients at home every month.
