Stanford Psychologist to Discuss Unseen Challenges of Living with PD at Menlo Park Support Group, January 9, 2-3:30pm

Blake K. Scanlon, PhD, director of training and education at the Stanford/VA Alzheimer's Center will discuss unseen challenges of living with Parkinson's Disease -- for those with PD, caregivers, family, and friends.  The PD support group meeting is on Wednesday, January 9th, at Little House in Menlo Park, starting at 2pm.  The meeting is open to the public.

Robin Riddle, coordinator of Stanford's APDA Parkinson's Information & Referral Center and CEO of Brain Support Network, will be part of a panel on Saturday, October 6th at the Sonoma County Parkinson's support group meeting in Santa Rosa at 1pm.  The event is free and open to the public.

Helen Bronte-Stewart, MD, MSE, Director, Stanford Movement Disorders Center, will discuss the latest in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson's Disease at the Wednesday, October 10th, PD support group meeting at Little House in Menlo Park.  Her talk is titled “Sensing Brain Rhythms Enable Personalized Closed-Loop Deep Brain Stimulation."  The meeting starts at 2pm and is open to the public.

Robin Riddle, coordinator of Stanford's APDA Parkinson's Information & Referral Center and CEO of Brain Support Network, will be speaking at the Wednesday, October 3rd Parkinson's support group meeting in Soquel at 2pm.  Her talk is titled "If it's not Parkinson's Disease, what is it?"  She will be providing an overview of the four atypical parkinsonism disorders.  The event is free and open to the public.

Kathleen Poston, MD, MS, movement disorder specialist, Stanford, will discuss non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s (focusing specifically on fatigue, drowsiness, and depression) at the Willow Glen Parkinson’s Support Group meeting on September 7th at 10:00am.
