Stanford’s Neuroscience Supportive Care Program is hosting a free 6-week workshop on Chronic Disease Self-Management beginning on April 3rd. The course is designed for patients dealing with a chronic disease (including Parkinson’s) and runs for 6 consecutive Tuesdays from Noon-2:30pm at the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center. Care partners are invited to participate, but only when accompanying their patients. Pre-registration is required.

Bill Clinch, Parkinson’s caregiver and support group member and moderator for the Parkinson’s Network of Mt. Diablo, is one of just 300 delegates to the Parkinson’s Policy Forum in Washington, DC. Bill is attending to learn more and to advocate for his wife and for others living with Parkinson’s. This is his 16th visit to the annual Forum, coordinated this year by the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Michael J. Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Stanford Movement Disorder Specialist to Discuss Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) at DBS Support Group, San Francisco, March 8, 6:00-8:00pm
Melanie Lising, MD, movement disorder specialist, Stanford, will be discussing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery, past, present and future at the UCSF DBS support group. The program is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about DBS (whether or not they are seen at UCSF). An RSVP is not required for this meeting.
