Excellent Resources for Caregiving Webinars
Recently, very few virtual events on our monthly Stanford Parkinson’s Caregiver Webinars list are specific to Parkinson’s caregiving. In light of that, we are discontinuing the Caregiving Webinar list.
For those of you who find general caregiving webinars useful, these are two prolific sources of caregiving webinars: the California Caregiver Resource Centers and WellMed Caregiver Teleconnection. We recommend subscribing to their email lists or newsletters, so you never miss an educational opportunity. Wonderfully, both organizations offer presentations in English and Spanish, and they are beginning to add LGBTQ-focused caregiving topics, as well.

No one knows what the future will bring. Especially when it comes to Parkinson’s Disease (PD), everyone experiences PD differently. There’s no set trajectory that everyone follows. PD is a chronic, progressive disease, which means that it typically gets worse over time. Yet, we don’t know how fast the disease will progress, or what symptoms will or won’t reveal themselves. Some symptoms of advanced PD may never become issues for you. However, for those experiencing the challenges of advanced PD and for their care partners, having reliable information is vital.

But for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) oral health is a particular concern as they commonly experience problems with the mouth and oral cavity, and some may have difficulty with dental hygiene.
