El Centro de información y referencia APDA de Stanford y Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach iniciarán un grupo de apoyo virtual para la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) para la comunidad de habla hispana en agosto de 2023. Durante esta primera reunión hablaremos sobre la cognición en la enfermedad de Parkinson. Este grupo está disponible a personas con la enfermedad de Parkinson y sus familias que residen en norte y centro de California (no solo a las familias de Stanford).

New APDA Online Training Course on Advanced Parkinson’s for Healthcare Professionals

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) has just launched Taking Care of the Person with Advanced Parkinson’s Disease©, a free, specialized online training course to help those who care for people with PD – particularly home health aides, nursing home staff, and visiting nurses – better understand the symptoms and challenges that come with advanced PD and how to best manage them.

Things to Consider as Parkinson’s Advances

No one knows what the future will bring. Especially when it comes to Parkinson’s Disease (PD), everyone experiences PD differently. There’s no set trajectory that everyone follows. PD is a chronic, progressive disease, which means that it typically gets worse over time. Yet, we don’t know how fast the disease will progress, or what symptoms will or won’t reveal themselves. Some symptoms of advanced PD may never become issues for you. However, for those experiencing the challenges of advanced PD and for their care partners, having reliable information is vital.
