On Wednesdays beginning March 6 from 10:30-11:30am, the American Parkinson Disease Association’s Northwest chapter will present a series of four, free virtual workshops designed to give Parkinson’s care partners practical tools and techniques to help a person with Parkinson’s help themselves.

On Wednesday, March 6, at 10am PT, Dr. Rebecca Gilbert will discuss deep brain stimulation (DBS) and focused ultrasound (FUS) with her guest, Dr. Ihtsham ul Haq, in the latest episode of Dr. Gilbert Hosts. These two medical procedures can help treat certain symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Each can be quite beneficial, but they are not appropriate for everyone.

A this special meeting of the Palo Alto PD support group on Friday, February 23, 2:30-3:30pm, we welcome Stanford movement disorder specialist Dr. Kathleen Poston. Dr. Poston will be speaking about a new biological definition of Parkinson’s Disease that she and others are proposing. (The effort was organized by the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Dr. Poston is one of the co-authors.)
