How Do You Keep Track of Your PD Symptoms?

A great way to help your neurologist better understand your symptoms is to keep close track of what you’re experiencing and when. The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) developed the free APDA Symptom Tracker mobile app to do just that.

Advice from a Parkinson’s Caregiver

This month the Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach Program hosted a lunch for former PD caregivers who attended our support groups. Those in attendance had lost their loved one from one week to four years ago.

“Under Pressure: Stress and Parkinson’s” – Webinar Notes

In July 2024, Parkinson Canada hosted a webinar on stress and Parkinson’s disease. The webinar featured guest speakers Kim Mortson and Dr. Rick Helmich.  Kim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2018 and spoke about her experience managing stress and practicing gratitude.  Dr. Helmich, a movement disorder specialist in the Netherlands, focused on the effects of stress on Parkinson’s. The speakers offered practical advice for managing stress.

The recent FDA approvals for donanemab (Kinsunla®) and lecanemab (Leqembi®) for the treatment of Alzheimer’s mark a major step forward for dementia research. While these treatments focus on Alzheimer’s, they offer hope for Parkinson’s disease as well.
