Stanford PD Community Blog

Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach is hosting a virtual “Connecting Through Art” (CTA) session for the local Bay Area Parkinson’s community on Friday, August 25, starting at 11am.  The 90-minute program is open to those with Parkinson’s and care partners.  This CTA program is free but advance registration is required as attendance is limited.  No artistic abilities are required.  And no fancy equipment is needed.  The facilitator is art therapist Christine Hirabayashi, PhD.  This program is sponsored by the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA).  

El Centro de información y referencia APDA de Stanford y Stanford Parkinson’s Community Outreach iniciarán un grupo de apoyo virtual para la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) para la comunidad de habla hispana en agosto de 2023. Este grupo está disponible a personas con la enfermedad de Parkinson y sus familias.  La primera reunión es el miércoles 16 de agosto, de 5:30 p.m. a 6:30 p.m. Estas reuniones virtuales están abiertas a cualquier persona en el norte y centro de California, no solo a las familias de Stanford.  

This is a great opportunity to increase awareness about PD, its symptoms, and the challenges of living with PD as well as caring for someone with PD.  We hope that raising awareness can generate support for all those affected by this neurological disorder.  Read more….
